Karen is Director, Government and Public Affairs for Plains All American and leads Plains’ government engagement and advocacy efforts across North America. She works with elected officials foster long-term relationships and to advance energy policy solutions. She joined Plains in 2014 and previously led U.S. stakeholder relations, managing media relations, crisis communications and external affairs for multiple successful capital expansion projects.

Prior to joining Plains, Karen led statewide media relations for the Texas Department of Transportation and led communications for the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault in Austin, Texas. Karen holds a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business.

Karen is passionate about coalition building, developing teams and fostering discussions about critical infrastructure needs. She’s a wife, mother, member of the University of Texas Kay Bailey Hutchison Energy Center Advisory Council and a Gold Award Girl Scout.
