Dr. Sabio is currently a VP in Macro-economic Modelling and Scenarios for the Energy Transition at Blackrock, Inc. Previously she was the Head of the Optimization and LCA Group in ExxonMobil Research & Engineering Company (EMRE) based in Annandale, NJ, where she led the development of the company’s capability in mathematical programming-based tools for the design and scale-up of the next generation low carbon process technologies.

Prior to ExxonMobil, Dr. Sabio earned a position as assistant professor at the Chemical Engineering Department of the University of Surrey, UK and did her postdoctoral studies at University College London (UCL) Energy Institute, where she worked on modeling the hydrogen and bioenergy value chains as well as the industrial sector for TIMES-UCL energy systems model. This model was adopted by the UK Government for analyzing UK Low Carbon Pathways.

Dr. Sabio has published articles in the areas of automotive fuels, bio and hydrogen energy, cement and steel technology roadmaps, energy policy, as well as the AIChE Journal, and collaborated in various policy oriented reports with institutions like Lloyds Register, Climate Strategies and E4Tech. Dr. Sabio continues to be active in the academic community, reviewing scientific papers, chairing conference sessions and participating as advisory board member. Dr. Sabio has been invited to give lectures at various academic institutions across the world.

Dr. Sabio is a proactive mentor and a champion for promoting diversity, particularly women in science and engineering.
