Allan joined bp in 2005 at the Kwinana Refinery in Perth, Western Australia. Over 10 years, he undertook various technical, project, commercial and operational roles before moving to London and working as a business advisor to bp’s head of global refining for 2 years. Following his time in London, Allan moved to Toledo, Ohio as the Commercial Manager and then Operations Manager for the Toledo refinery up until its sale in 2023.

Following that, Allan moved to Houston, Texas where he led the successful acquisition and integration of the bp-Bunge bioenergy business (now called bp Bioenergy) into bp. Allan is the VP of Operations, holding responsibility for Operations Excellence, major project commissioning, TAR start-up/shutdown and front-end project operating models across bp’s global portfolio of upstream and downstream assets. Allan has a degree in Chemical Engineering from Curtin University of Technology, and an MBA from the University of Western Australia.
