A self-avowed hydrogen nerd, Angel advances hydrogen technology in Texas and across the US at Southwest Research Institute. She tackles research projects designed to implement hydrogen/natural gas blends and heavy-duty hydrogen refueling technology. Angel is spearheading the launch of H2HD REFUEL, a new industry consortium focused on hydrogen refueling stations. The joint industry program explores component testing, station controls, vehicle H2 storage solutions, and standardization to facilitate H2 fuel adoption. Angel cares deeply about her community and is leading a feasibility study to convert the local garbage truck fleet to H2 fuel. She also mentored two high school student groups working on final projects researching H2 implementation solutions while teaching them valuable engineering skills. In 2023, she made the San Antonio Business Journal’s 40 under 40 list. Angel stands out among the brightest minds working to advance multidisciplinary H2 research.
