A Professor in Chemical Engineering with over 30 years of experience in education, research, development, and innovation across the US, Europe, and the Middle East, Lourdes is known for transforming ideas into projects focused on sustainable energy and products. She is internationally recognized for contributions in molecular modeling, CO2 capture, hydrogen production, alternative energy, sustainable refrigerants, and water treatment. Lourdes holds non-executive director roles at ERCROS S.A. and Canal de Isabel II S.A., and advisory positions at IREC, CNIE, and various agencies. She has been honored as one of the TOP100 Women Leaders in Spain (2024) and an an impactful Women in the Middle East (2024). She has been elected to prestigious scientific boards and academies, including the Royal Academy of Sciences of Spain and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and is a recipient of numerous awards, including the Mohammed Bin Rashid Medal for Scientific Distinguishment and the UAE’s Visa of Talent.
