Raquel was appointed Executive Vice President, Human Resources & Administration in May 2025. She is a seasoned Human Resources executive with more than 20 years of international experience, specializing in the energy sector. Since joining NextDecade in January 2018, Raquel has been instrumental in guiding the company through various development stages, ensuring it remains an employer of choice for top professionals in the industry. Her strategic leadership in talent acquisition and management has been pivotal to the company’s growth and success. Prior to joining NextDecade, Raquel served as the Head of Human Resources for BG Group’s Houston office and its Global Energy Marketing and Shipping business, overseeing Human Resources operations across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Raquel’s journey in Human Resources began in Brazil, where she led the Human Resources function for BG Group’s upstream asset division. Her deep understanding of the energy sector and her ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics have consistently positioned her as a key player in the industry. Raquel holds an Executive MBA in General Business Management from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (UFJF). Her academic background, combined with her extensive professional experience, underscore her commitment to fostering a dynamic and inclusive workplace.
