Cristina is the Director of Sustainability and the Sempra Infrastructure Foundation. In this role, she is responsible for implementing Sempra Infrastructure’s sustainability strategy, focusing on the commitment to drive the energy transition in North America.
Cristina began her career at the Sempra family of companies in 1998, contributing to the development of natural gas storage, transportation and distribution projects in Mexico.
With over 25 years of experience in the energy sector in Mexico, she has been responsible for areas such as government relations, political and regulatory analysis, energy, environmental and social regulation, permits and regulatory compliance, external and community affairs, sustainability, internal and external communication, as well as the Sempra Infrastructure Foundation.
Cristina holds a degree in International Relations from El Colegio de México and a master’s degree in international relations from the University of California, San Diego. She is a member of Voz Experta, an initiative that seeks to give visibility to expert women in the energy sector, and a member of the Council of the Mexican Alumni Network of the University of California. Prior to joining the Sempra family of companies, she worked in the General Bureau for North America at the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
